Shop & Dine 2025

Shop Local, Strengthen Community: Chamber Launches Shop & Dine Campaign

‘Tis the season to shop local, and the Henderson County Chamber is encouraging everyone to make a conscious effort to support our small business community. As part of Small Business Season (November 1st –December 31st), the Chamber is highlighting the importance of shopping and dining locally through its annual Shop & Dine Campaign.

Every time someone makes a purchase from a local merchant, something bigger happens than a simple transaction. Those dollars circulate through the community, supporting local jobs, funding community improvements, and helping our economy shine a little brighter.

According to the National Retail Federation, the 2025 holiday consumer outlook projects average spending of $890.49 per person for gifts and seasonal items. Based on these figures, if every Henderson County resident committed to shopping locally, it could give our economy a boost of more than $100 million.

Studies show that for every $100 spent at a locally owned business, roughly $48 - $68 stays in the community. That money helps pay employees, supports local charities and children’s programs, and keep the lights on for other small businesses, a ripple known as the “local multiplier effect.”

This holiday season, the Chamber is adding an extra reason to keep your spending close to home. For every $100 spent with Henderson County merchants between November 3rd and December 15th, shoppers earn an entry for one of two local gift basket drawings of over $500 value each. Bring your receipts to the Henderson County Chamber to enter. Winners will be drawn on December 16th during the Chamber’s December Business After Hours at the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Some exclusions apply: fuel, groceries, prescriptions, and real estate purchases do not qualify, and receipts are capped at $1,000 for a single receipt.

Join the Henderson County Chamber, along with Hendersonville/Mills River/Arden Family Dental, Romeo Harrelson & Coiner P.A., Steward Partners, Times-News, The Van Winkle Law Firm, We Sell WNC and WTZQ, as we keep the cheer here this holiday season!
