Women’s Business Exchange is a business and professional networking organization, whose primary purpose is to promote and support women in business and professional practices. The Network tagline is Empowered, Inspired, Connected. This new network is sponsored by Blue Ridge Community College, Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, and MountainBiz Works. There is no charge to join. The WBE meets the 2nd Monday of each month from 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm at the Chamber headquarters, 204 Kanuga Road on the corner of Kanuga and Church Street.
The Women's Business Exchange is open to women with diverse experiences and perspectives, membership is inclusive. In addition to women already in the workforce as employees or business owners, the network is open to those interested in starting their own business, or who work in a large organization but want to discuss business issues in a professional, supportive atmosphere outside the office. Also welcome are women who have been out of the workforce, but are poised to re-enter.
What is Women’s’ Business Exchange Purpose?
WBE has multiple purposes, including: experience and expertise, education, networking, and support. Since women entrepreneurs are responsible for all facets of the business and often work alone, they may lack daily access to colleagues with expertise and experience in areas such as accounting, legal, new product development, marketing or strategic planning. The Women's Business Exchange provides a forum for interaction with others who can offer diverse perspectives and business expertise.
Monthly meetings will offer educational topics such as best practices for business management, financial planning, sales, marketing, PR, HR, goal-setting, stress management, organization skills, presentation techniques or wellness. The topics will be selected by network members and presentations may be given by a Women's Business Exchange member, guest expert or facilitator.
Time is set aside for networking at each Woman’s Business Exchange meeting for members to learn more about each other. In addition to establishing a sense of collegiality, networking provides opportunities to exchange information, share advice, offer inspiration, and expand business possibilities.
